What is independent prescribing ?

Delivered by specially trained pharmacists who hold independent prescribing qualifications, this enhanced NHS service allows us to assess, diagnose, and prescribe treatment for many acute issues directly within the pharmacy.

Treatment for minor illnesses

Whether you're dealing with a chest or ear infection, or another minor illness that requires more than over-the-counter care, our prescribing pharmacists are here to help. This service builds on the foundation of NHS Pharmacy First Scotland, expanding access to clinical advice and treatment in a convenient, community setting.

Availability of Pharmacy First Plus

Not all pharmacies offer Independent Prescribing, and availability may vary depending on the day and location. Our team will always do their best to accommodate you - either by scheduling an appointment or referring you to another of our pharmacies where a prescriber is available.
